Lifetime Drama Saga Continued

I don't know if you remember me talking about my attempted murder situation at the beginning of the month, if not you can and should read about it here.

Anyways, this past Friday my drama saga unfortunately continued...

I was going about minding my own business, doing work like normal, when I had to run across the hall to drop some paper work off. While I was walking I was looking down at the paperwork I was delivering and not looking where I was going ...this was a BIG MISTAKE!!

All of a sudden I hear my name being called at a very close distance to me and I look up to find the husband poising murderous woman standing with a slimy creepy smile plastered on her face and her arms outstretched right in front of me!!!

And you want to know what I did? I PANICKED!!

I panicked so bad that I hugged the husband poising murderous woman! I walked right into her outstretched arms and hugged her!

And what does one say after hugging an attempted murderer?

Me: How are you?

Me: Oh, I see you hurt your wrist! (said with a sympathetic tone, but all the while I'm thinking she must have tried to beat someone to death with that hand)

Murderer: Yeah I broke it.

Me: Oh, I'm so sorry (slowly backing away), well it was nice seeing you.

Murderer: (leans in closer) You know we are trying to work things out.

Me: (NOW I'M REALLY FREAKING OUT BECAUSE SHE KNOWS THAT I KNOW!!)

Me: Oh, Sweetie I'm so sorry (nods head, again sympathetically, like I know what she's going through).

Me: Well, it was nice seeing you. I hope you work things out. (shows paperwork to let her know that I have very important business and that I am not running away from her in fear...then I turn and run away from her in fear)

Needless to say I was a little twitchy the rest of the day.

On a positive note, I did learn that I turn into extra super nice person when in the face of an attempted murderer. This is not something I knew about myself. In fact I don't think it's a quality that I have tried to examine before, but it's good to know.

It will come in handy if I ever have to interview for a job on death row.

Am I a Robot?

Have you ever had an anxiety attack?

Well let me tell you, they are not fun.

Over the last few months, when I have been super stressed (and I have been super stressed), I have had derealization and depersonalization anxiety attacks.

de·re·al·i·za·tion
dēˌrē(ə)ləˈzāSHən/
noun
1.
a feeling that one's surroundings are not real, esp. as a symptom of mental disturbance.

de·per·son·al·i·za·tion
dēˌpərsənələˈzāSHən/
  1. 1.
the action of divesting someone or something of human characteristics or individuality.
a state in which one's thoughts and feelings seem unreal or not to belong to oneself, or in which one loses all sense of identity.

It's super weird and super crazy. It normally happens when I'm in a big crowd. Everything goes mute and hazy and things move in slow motion. Nothing seems real, almost like we are all trapped in a television show or dream and at any moment we are just going to wake up and find out none of what we know is real. I kinda feel like a crazy person (or technically not a person), but the internet tells me I'm not crazy, just stressed...so I'm going to believe that all of the internet is true.

However, even with me having anxiety attacks where I don't think my life is real, this is not the main reason I don't feel like a human.

The main reason I question my humanity is because of the stupid word verification thingy I have to do every time I try to leave a comment anywhere on the internet!

I swear some of them are in a different language or not really letters at all! I think they are just ink blots and the person who makes them is just sitting there laughing at us trying guess letters out of nothing!

I know they are just testing to make sure I'm not a robot spam commenting on everything, but 9 times out of 10 I don't get it right on the first try. This makes me seriously question if I'm a robot or not. I could really be one in disguised and just not know it.

Am I the only one who has a hard time with the word verifications or am I the only robot out there?

How did I end up with three jobs?

Guys. I'm tired of working two jobs.

I know I've only been doing this two weeks, but it's exhausting.

And, not only am I working two jobs, I somehow I find myself actually working three jobs.

Get this, I know it's going to sound weird, but the coffee shop is inside a Mexican restaurant!

It's one of the strangest things I have ever seen or heard! But they make it work...I guess?

The coffee shop owner and the Mexican restaurant owner are business partners. They are in one little building in a strip mall and split the space. There are two separate counters and they share the seating area.

This is all kinds of unusual and I find it very intriguing, except for the part where I have to be a Barista and a waitress at the same time.

Do you know how hard it is to be a Barista and a waitress at the same time!?!

Pretty darn difficult if you ask me!

Making the fancy coffee takes some time and when you have a line of coffee people and even one or two tables it's very hard to keep up and take care of everyone in a timely manor (It's near impossible).

You would think, with it technically being two separate businesses (They have different names and different counters), they would have two separate workers, but that is not the case. Luna gets all the work!

I know I'm complaining little (okay maybe a lot) here because I'm tired, but I really do like the job and it pays for my coffee habit (I think, even with my discount, I am paying them to work there).

It may be a a slightly unusual situation that is a lot of work, but it's all good. I got this. I'm super woman. I'll make it work!

...right after my nap.

Road Trip!

Mona and I both had off work yesterday, so we hit the road Jack.

Anytime we both have a day off, we grab our bags, find what clean clothes we can (we are terrible at keeping up with laundry), get in the car, and go wherever the wind takes us.

This is one of my favorite things ever of all times. No plans, no destination, just the wind in my hair and the open road.

We have found some wonderful and unexpected places on our travels. We have taken tours of president's homes, revolving jails, old theaters, and lakes so deep you can scuba dive.

There has also been lots of great food and lots of great coffee (my personal favorite).

There have only been a few times where I have gotten Mona into situations where she feared for her life.

Like when I made her take take the bus in California and she thought we got lost and were going to be kidnapped and sold into the sex trade (we weren't lost...we were just transferring buses in the middle of a Mexican community on a corner where some people were tying to make a living.)

Or the time we stopped for a tour of a small maple factory (and by small I mean it was in their barn in the middle backwoods of Wisconsin with no one around for miles. They were lovely people..I don't see why Mona thought they were going to murder us and no one would hear our screams)

And she outright said "NO!" to touring a shut down mental institution!

Let's just say she is irrationally fearful of potentially dangerous situations.

I don't get it.

This trip we stayed in well populated, touristy areas, so Mona didn't complain. Strike that, she didn't complain about her life being in danger. She did have a problem with her sunglasses, or lack thereof.

Mona: we need to stop somewhere and get me sunglasses. I broke my last pair.

Me: okay we can stop at Walmart

Mona: no. We can stop somewhere nicer. I'm willing to spend more money on them.

Me: after you broke the last three pair you had?

Mona: they only broke because they were cheep.

Me: Really Mona? It wasn't because you forgot you were wearing them on your shirt when you hugged someone, dropped them on the concrete, or stepped on them?

Mona: No.

------
(us driving through a cute little downtown)

Mona: do you think they would have sunglasses there? (Points at lamps & shades store)

Me:(face-palm)

-----
Mona: (in a whining tone) I need sunglasses!

Me: do you want to wear mine?

Mona: (nods)

Me: (gives Mona my sunglasses)

Mona: they're dirty!

Me: That's it! Give them back! You don't deserve them!

------
We never did stop to get her sunglasses. But in my defense, she was the driver. It wan't like I was holding her back.

Luna's Big Day

Well folks. Today is the day we've all been waiting for...

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!

The big two five.

And let me tell you I feel so much older and wiser! Life has taken on a completely different perspective since the clock struck midnight (I feel a little bit like Cinderella)! I mean it's not everyday you turn a quarter of a century old!

A quarter of a century people!

Gosh it seems like it has taken my whole life to get here!

In all honesty, I don't even really feel like an adult. I feel a twelve year old who is pretending to be a grown up. I'm kinda just winging this whole "adulthood" thing. My main philosophy in life is "fake it til ya make it".

I think I'm pulling it off (if no one's looking too closely).

I have everyone so fooled that I'm even allowed to rent a car now! (Weird that that's the last milestone of age allowable things I am able to do...besides retirement)

I'm actually looking forward to the next 25 years of my life. To see what adventure and excitement and whatnot life has in store for me.

I want to age gracefully. I want to embrace getting older and not wish that I was younger or feel the need to lie about my age.  I am going to rock at getting old and make everyone wish they could be as cool and old as me! Just you wait and see!

Cheers to the next twenty-five years!

Haven!!

All I can think about today is the fact that Haven is on tonight! (please notice the unusually large photo showing my level of excitement)

It's got mystery, intrigue, secrets, romance, and science fiction. What more could you want?

If you haven't seen it...Haven is based off the book The Colorado Kid by Stephen King and follows FBI agent Audrey Parker as she follows a case to the small town of Haven. Once she is there, unusual things start to happen. The town has it's "troubles" that it tries to keep hidden from Audrey, but she is determined to uncover their secrets. During her investigation Audrey finds an old newspaper article about the Colorado Kid with a picture of a woman that looks alarming like Audrey. She believes this could be a picture of her unknown mother and decides to stay and investigate the woman and the troubles in Haven.

A lot of sci-fi and fantasy shows, if you watch enough, can become predicable after awhile (at least that's what I think), not bad, just predicable. This show, even after 3 seasons, continues to surprise me with twists and turns that I never see coming! And I love it!

You should go find season one right now and start watching and keep watching because it keeps getting better and better!

Conversation with Mona

I thought I would share a public Facebook conversation that Mona and I had yesterday to help you see into the type of sister relationship we have.

Mona LaBlue>Luna LaBlue
So last year for "your" birthday you took me to Maine! I am excited to see what you do for me this year!!!
  • Mona LaBlue:  I can have all monday off
  • Luna LaBlue:  I tried to get monday off, but I can't
  • Luna LaBlue:  And you are a terrible sister. You didn't plan anything last year. I had to do all the work!
  • Mona LaBlue:  I had to plan myyyy own birthday party! You are the terrible sister!
  •   Mona LaBlue: I gave you my company! That is priceless!
  • Luna LaBlue:  priceless=worthless that's why I didn't plan anything for your birthday
  • Mona LaBlue: Baaa

    We have a wonderful relationship!

After our heated public birthday argument, Mona and I spent some quality sister time together. We talked about life and work and lack of sleep. And let me tell you...when you get the two of us together, while we are both extremely sleep deprived, we are hilarious! We were cracking up each other up! It fact we didn't really talk all that much. It was more just weird, uncontrollable, and if I'm being honest, unattractive laughter. Other people, if they saw us in this state, may call us crazy. But why bother with technicalities?

I really do love that crazy girl.

And just to let you all know...Mona wanted to plan her own birthday party! I could have had a wonderful huge extravagant birthday extravaganza planned, but I just wanted her to be happy and do what she wanted to do on her birthday! I think that's being a pretty wonderful sister!

(And yes my birthday is this Monday...feel free to send me gifts)

Rainy Day Blues

Rainy Day Blues
This has not been a great morning and it's only 7:17 A.M.

First off, I woke up five minutes before my alarm.

Do you know how upsetting it is to wake up five minutes before your alarm?  Especially when you're really tired. I just about wanted to cry. (I also want to cry when my alarm doesn't go off and I'm late for work and I also want to cry when it goes off right on time...the alarm clock just can't win)

Then, I end up throwing my controller across the room (just on my bed, nothing super violent or anything).

Why you may ask?

Well, this whole week I have been watching season one of The Mindy Project on Hulu while I have been getting ready in the morning (I've been talking about it on Twitter). When I went to start an episode, that I was in the middle of, this morning it was gone! All of season one has been replaced by last nights season two episode!

How am I suppose to watch season two before I finish season one? And I was left hanging in the middle of an episode!

So, I threw my control across my room and on to my bed and got ready in silence.

Once I was ready, I grabbed Mona's toothbrush and toothpaste and ran out the door to my car. It was raining and I left my raincoat in my parents minivan last week, so I got wet. (if your wondering about Mona's toothbrush and toothpaste, she forgot to brush her teeth and I go to the coffee shop where she works every morning, so she wanted me to bring it for her)

I get to the coffee shop, drop off the toothbrush, grab my coffee and a muffin, and book it to work so I won't be late.

I pull into the big empty parking lot and drive towards my spot. And out of this whole big and empty parking lot there is only one car in the entire lot.  And do you know where this one car, in this big empty parking lot, is parked?

MY SPOT!!!!

Now, we don't so much have assigned parking spots, it's more of self assignment. Basically I park in the same place every morning and everybody knows it.

I don't want to be the kind of person who does the same thing everyday and gets upset when their lives get disrupted. I really don't want to be that type of person, but I think I am.

That's MY SPOT!

I had to take a deep breath. I went and parked in a different spot giving the empty car the evil eye and muttered under my breath the whole time.

This is obviously not something that is upsetting to me. I'm writing about this very calmly.

All in all my day hasn't been too terribly terrible, things could be worse. I am very optimistic that it will get....

...my boss just called to tell me my coworker is not coming in and I have to do all of her work.

Also, I have think I eat a muffin like a two year old! How does one get so many crumbs everywhere?

Barista Update

You guys are probably wondering how my first day as a Barista went...I told you I was starting last week and never gave you any type of update!

You're probably asking what kind of blogger is this Luna LaBlue? She just left us hanging like this? She left us wondering if she hated being a Barista or if she up and quit after the first ten minuets or if she died from a fatal steamed milk accident?!? Who knows? Not us!

Well guys, good news! I did not die in a fatal steamed milk accident!

I actually kinda love it! I was practically running the place after the first hour (slightly over-exaggerated statement)!

My First Cup Of Coffee
Look at my picture and you can see my first cup of coffee! Mona says it looks like I didn't measure the right amount of milk because the cup isn't full, but I was so excited I had to take a drink before I took the picture. I had been up since 5:30 AM I needed a sip of my HappyCappi before I could think properly and take a picture!

As you can clearly see I perfected the coffee art. What do you mean you don't see it? It's a cloud people!

Anyways, back to what I was saying. I think I am picking it up rather well. I have the main base of coffee drinks down (lattes and cappuccinos) and now I just have to remember how to make all the specialty drinks they serve.

I really do enjoy the atmosphere of working in a coffee shop and chatting with the customers (do not call them patients-this is not my hospital job) and I think I will keep it for awhile.

I am helping them plan a fall open house for this Saturday. We will be introducing all of our new fall drinks and we will have tastings and drawings for prizes and fun!

I will tell you guys all about it next week! I promise! I won't forget! Just remind me if I haven't posted anything by next Thursday...

Liebster Awards

So I have been nominated for TWO Liebster Awards in the last few days! A special thank you to Marit TRH & Illyanna Fox!

If you're interesting in what the Liebster Award is you can check out it's origins HERE

Since I have gotten both of these awards back to back I am going to combine them into one post. I am going to do two sets of questions and answers and nominate separate blogs, but it will all be in one post!

Make sure to answer the right questions!

The rules are as following:
1. Each nominee should answer the 11 questions by the tagger.
2. Choose five bloggers with under 200 followers to pass this award to link them in your post.
3. Create 11 new questions for your chosen bloggers.
4. Go to their page and tell them about the nomination.
5. No tag backs.

Liebster Award number one (Marit's questions)
1. What was the main motivation for you to start blogging?
I love reading and writing. I was reading some other blogs and though "Hey, I could do that! That would be fun!" So, I started blogging.

2. What blog post are you especially proud of?
Hold on, let me go look through my posts...Okay I think I like Cranky Luna the best. It was fun to write, I drew my own pictures, and it's my most popular post.

3. What blog post are you now almost a little embarrassed having posted?
Oh gosh...I should have looked ahead at the questions...let me go look at my posts again. Okay, so I don't have a ton of posts (as I've just only been blogging since august), but Sorry For My Neglect is probably the one I'm most embarrassed about, because it was more of a non post.

4. What do you serve the first time you invite your date for dinner at your place?
Date? Ha...that's a good one! I don't date much, but if I did...Yikes! I probably won't cook for them. It would scare them away! I might bake something I make a mean date (the fruit) potica!

5. Chocolate or vanilla?
If we are talking a Chocolate bar of some type I'm that all the way, but flavoring I'm a vanilla girl.

6. Do you remember what was the first book you bought for your own money? And why did you choose that book?
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking it was a Christy Miller book. They are teen christian romance books. They were too much "romance" according to my mother, so I would sneak and read them. I read the whole series without her knowing.

7.What's your favorite holiday?
Thanksgiving. My family is a bit odd...we do themed thanksgivings. We dress up and do plays and murder mysteries and decades and crazy such things. This year we have a super hero theme. I'm sure I'll do a full post about it around that time.

8. Describe how a blog post is usually written by you (I want to know the whole process).
Sit down at the computer, bring up new blog post, think about what has been what interesting thing happened yesterday or that morning or what was going to be happening later that day, and write. Reread it a few times to check for errors and hit post!

9. Your favorite color?
Green.

10. What beauty product can't you live without?
Umm...I'm pretty low maintenance. I like to try all the new things and never buy the same thing twice, so there's nothing I can't really live without. Does deodorant count? I always use deodorant! (I would recommend this for everyone)

11. Describe yourself with 3 words.
quirky, unusual, thoughtful? (that is harder then it looks and these words probably do not describe me very well at all)

Group One Blogs I Have Nominated:
1. Joy Fanning at Aspiring Joy
2. Laura Greenwood at Trips Down Imagination Road
3. Ophelia W at Writing Under Falling Blossoms
4. Kazelle Carisa at On a Simple Thought
5. Caroline Lloyd at House at Roo Corner

My New Questions for Group One:
1. Do you have any pets?
2. Why did you choose that blog name?
3. If you could follow one person around, without them knowing, who would it be?
4. Do you think Pluto should still be a planet?
5. What is your favorite way to catch up on news?
6. What is your favorite website?
7. If you could only follow one blog, which one would it be?
8. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
9. Dr. Seuss or Shel Silverstein?
10. Who is your favorite person?
11. What is your favorite Doctor Who episode?

Liebster Award number Two (Illyanna's questions)
1. Why do you blog?
I blog for a fun creative outlet.

2 . What do you hate most about blogging?
I can't say that I hate anything yet, I've only been blogging since august and love everything about it!

3. What do you like to do in your free time?
Read, write, watch tv, travel

4. Cake or ice-cream?
Ice cream. I hate frosting on cake.

5. Dog or cat person?
Dog all the way. My dog, Minnow, is my baby. She is part black lab and part basset hound. She looks like a giant winner dog, full black lab body with tinny little legs.

6. Favourite book/author?
Right now, my favorite book is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

7. Favourite movie?
Right now my favorite movie is Safety Not Guaranteed.

8. Favourite guilty junk food?Fried cheese curds. I'm a Wisconsin Girl.

9. What country would you like to most visit?
Umm...is all of them an answer? Austria is at the top of my list right now. One of my friends just married an Austrian and moved there, so I want to visit her.

10. Your opinion on The Immortal Instrument movie verses the book.
I didn't really like the books, so I didn't see the movie. This is unusual for me because I normally love that type of book.

11. Your opinion on The Twilight movies verses the books.
I always like the books better, but I have to say the ending of the movie was way better than the book. I am a dork and always go to the midnight showings and there were people sobbing uncontrollably. I have to admit I got really excited and laughed. I like the unexpected and that ending was unexpected.

8. Do you like marketing your blog?
9. Do you like to lie?
10. What is your favorite cookie?
11. squash or wasabi?

Hardcore Miss America

Miss America 2014 (USA Today, 2013)
The Miss America Pageant.

Most people have heard of it. It has been going on for the last 88 years, so if you haven't heard of it you should pay better attention to the important things in this world. Come on!

Some people may call my family crazy, but we take the Miss America Pageant very seriously.

My aunt makes booklets for us each year with all the contestants pictures, states, talents, and causes listed. It comes with brackets for the top 15, 7 and final 5 with runner up and winner slots. We even have special Miss America pens (they are red, white, and blue).

There is space to write down our comments as we earnestly judge each contestant. We, of course, prejudge based on how photogenic they are in their pamphlet pictures, but once the program starts the real judging begins.

We judge them on their walk, speech, how awesome their talents are (roller dance, ventriloquism, and yodeling are shoe ins-one year there was even a yodeling ventriloquist!). We closely examine their looks, multiple wardrobe changes, swimsuits, the sound of their voice, how they smile, and how they answer questions. We even judge to see if they suck in their stomachs during the swimsuit competition! One year, during the evening gown, they walked with their fathers and brothers and we had to judge the men as well.

No aspect of them goes unjudged. It's a very harsh environment. We yell and scream at the TV in protest when our favorites get cut and the ugly untalented ones stay in (this sounds very terrible on our parts and I am very much against calling people ugly and untalented, but this is a harsh contest! There is a lot at stake!! Don't you judge me!).

When it comes down to judging the finial 5, things really get cutthroat. We go over all of our notes, reevaluate every aspect of the contestants, try to convince others to vote wrong, call each other names, and keep our ballets secret as we carefully rank the top five contestants in order and decide who the winner should be...it's really nerve-wracking!

Whoever gets closest to picking the correct final 5, in order, wins the whole deal! We get crowned with a tiara and sash, receive a glowing plastic rose, a $10 gift card, and the ultimate title of MISS AMERICA WINNER!
My sister, Mona, posted this on Facebook this morning:

Miss America is our families March Madness! It certainly has it's upsets, and we definitely yell at the tv, we have brackets, and we critique every move. And if you pick the winner there is always a prize! Good stuff!

Good stuff indeed!

I can't wait until next year!
